Pop Quiz

~When writing our action research paper we learned a lot of new things about Google Docs. Here are some new things I learned:

  • I learned how to upload documents from my computer to Google Docs.

  • I learned how to save doucuments as a PDF and Word through Google Docs.

  • I learned how to share documents with my teacher.

  • I learned how to add things to my document and resave them.

  • If you share your document with someone else they can make changes to your document.

~You can also save Excel documents on Google Docs. When writing our paper we used APA formatting. This was fairly new to me so I learned a lot about that as well.

  • Every page must have a Page header that has a title and page number.

  • The paper has 4 major parts; Title Page, Abstract, Main Body, and Refrences.

~Today we also had to make 2 videos on Jing. The first video we had to make was hoe to install the analysis toolpack to excel. Click here to watch that video on how to istall the anaylsis toolpack to Excel. The other video we had to make was show how to do a t-test on Excel. Click here to see my other video on how to do a t-test. On the T-test video there was not a significant difference between the pre and post test scores. The way you figure this out is that if the number is greater than .05 then there is no significant difference and if the number is less than .o5 then there is a significant difference in the scores.

Standard Deviation

Today we learned how to use the standard deviation function in Excel. There is a function that that will tell you if there is a significant difference between gender and classification beteween their test scores. Here is that function: Significant differences existed for the two groups [(F(1,1) = 3.89, p = 0.00)]. Click here to see my Final Draft of the Action Research Project on Google Docs. APA Formatting

For the last week or two our class has been working on a Action Research Project. We used an Excel Spreadsheet to diplay our data. We then used that data to write our paper. We also used that data to make graphs and tables to insert into our Action Research Paper. We learned how to write our Action Research Paper by using the APA format. I used a correct APA formatted paper as a guide to write my paper. Click here to see this example. This took a few class periods to learn how to do but it will come in handy when you become a teacher. Click here to see my Action Research Paper. Today we did another spreadsheet. Click here to see the spreadsheet template we used. We reviewed using the average formula. We learned how to find the min., max., and the range today. We also learned how to do a weighted average for all the students.Finding the weighted average was a little harder than the rest of them but after a while I started to figure it out. We also learned how to figure out the letter grade from the students average. Click here to see my finished Spreadsheet 2.
